Building Skills To Build Community

Behavior Analysis For Teens And Adults

Community Behavior Services provides ABA individual-affirming applied behavior analysis for teens and adults with autism and related developmental disorders. We help clients build skills they need to reach their goals and navigate their lives and emphasize skills needed to manage personal responsibilities, connect with others, explore and evaluate choices, and use and advocate for supports that help them thrive.

Welcome

Community Behavior Services

Community Behavior Services began in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex in 2016 and has become a trusted source of behavior services for neurodivergent teens and young adults.

We have built a reputation for providing creative, collaborative behavior services to our clients and families and consulting with teachers, case managers, and other support professionals, partner other people in their natural environments to develop plans that meet their needs in their environments. We offer a wide range of programs to meet the needs of our clients and families.

Our services apply principles of behavior and learning derived from behavior analysis, a natural science which understands learning as behavior change in relation to environmental changes, to help build skills of life-changing importance.

We use ABA to empower and work with each client to understand their personal goals and identify the target skills and environmental changes to move toward them. We seek input from family, friends, and other professionals during intake, and include them in programming or training to ensure a supportive environment.

We value our neurodivergence, and respect the neurotypicality and neurodiversity of the people we work with. For this reason, we only work to change a person’s behavior if they have asked for our help, consented, or given permission.

From school to whatever comes next

Parent Skills Training We recognize the unique developmental context of the transition years, and work with individuals and their families to redefine and adjust their roles as they change during this unique phase of the lifespan.

PEERS® or the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills, is an evidence based social skill training intervention for teens and young adults with autism spectrum disorders. First developed by Elizabeth Laugeson at UCLA, PEERS® is also appropriate for teens and adults with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, and other social challenges. Recent research has demonstrated that gains made over the course of this program are maintained 3-5 years later (Mandelberg et al, 2013).
