Most people agree that friends are essential for a happy, healthy life. But what if a person wants to make friends but doesn’t know how? At Community Behavior Services, we combine our passion for individual-affirming, empowering ABA with PEERS®, the evidence-based communication and relationship skills program for people with autism and related social challenges.
PEERS® is Unique
PEERS® is unique among social skills programs.
Scientifically validated social skill intervention for teens and adults
Evidence-based practice for learners with autism spectrum disorders
Targets ecologically valid skills needed to make and keep friends and navigate social environments
Skills introduced in non-example/example videos for learning engagement and active student responding
Incorporates training of parents/social coaches to support use of skills in daily life
Weekly skills practice homework between sessions
PEERS® Young Adults
PEERS® for Young Adults is for motivated adults with autism who are interested in learning skills needed to make and keep friends, develop romantic relationships, handle dating pressure, relationship conflict and rejection, and deal with bullying.
Teens – age 14 -18
Interested in attending and voluntarily agree to participate
In middle school or high school
PEERS® Teens
PEERS® for Teens is a parent-assisted training intervention for teens in middle and high school who are motivated to learn skills needed to make and keep friends, handle peer pressure, relationship conflict and rejection, and deal with bullying.
